Beautiful Day

Sometimes I can't stay awake
When I listen to the sounds of the lake
And they follow me into my dreams
And the number of stars in the sky always
Kept this indiana boy amazed
It looks like the night's gonna rip up at the seams

And since we're at home up here
We can just wake up and say
What a beautiful day

Many a day have I passed on the lawn,
Thinking of my friends who have come and gone
They couldn't stay long, but that little time was better than none
My chores are done, I need some air
So it's down to the court for four-square
If living is loving, than loving is living for fun

Even the rain falls like a symphony
With a thunder crash cymbal and a tympani
And pretty soon it is all that we can hear
And finally a song to sing and ode
To the folks at the end of the two track roads
I can't wait until you come back next year
