So Much More Than Light
She was a china-doll standing on the edge of the street And someone's gotta get that girl off her feet He said I'm going to the water am I going your way, Come on pretty thing 'cause you sure can't stay You know I'll never get around o being on your time And I'll never get around to being just fine And I never want to get around to where you are 'Cause you've got nothing but hopes of being a star In a sky full of other stars That is not what you are You are so much more than light She was overeducated and underestimated And now she lost the man she dated 'cause her neighborhood is gated And he's standing outside these verona walls Waiting for his Juliet to call But there's a storm a coming looking for a battlefield And you left him out without a sword and shield But it will make a better story when you talk about his scars Cause you've got nothing but hopes of being a star. He never met her father, he was sleeping upstairs And her mother (a romantic) sure she didn't care That she was out at all hours with a blue-collared boy Only the best for her girl, lord knows she loves her toys She had butterflies dancing in her solar plexus When he hit a raccoon with her father's lexus Thought he'd jump ship before they got this far, But she still has hopes of being A star © André Villoch
